NORTH VERNON, Ind. — Work on the North Vernon Quarry Park project is entering its final stages despite weather and equipment delivery delays, according to city officials.
City engineer Tim Hunt reported that play equipment crews worked through Labor Day weekend to complete complex grading and installation work along the quarry hillside.
The installation of slides and play structures is wrapping up this week, with gazebo construction expected to follow shortly after.
Once backfilling and safety surfacing are completed, the city hopes to host a soft opening for the public later this fall.
